Joyetech eVic Mod Review

joyetech evic mod review 5

If you want to step into the future of vaping, look no further than the high tech Joyetech eVic mod. This is a tube shaped mod that gives you the ultimate vaping experience in terms of technology. I have to admit that I was pretty skeptic about the eVic in the beginning. A lot of the features seemed excessive and I wasn’t convinced that all the options were really necessary. It seemed like a lot of bells and whistles that would only complicate the overall vaping experience, but I still wanted to try it out before I made a final decision.

Let’s start with the basics. Joyetech is a Chinese ecig company and they created the eVic as the first “Vapor Intelligent Cigarette”. This is a fairly expensive kit compared to other mods, but it’s a sleek device with a lot of options for customization. The kit comes equipped with the 18650 battery that you need for operation and that’s a nice touch since most mods don’t include batteries.

At first glance, the eVic has a very futuristic design. It’s about 5 inches long and looks like a silver tube. On the top, there is a display screen and then you find a chrome ring around the bottom of the control head. There is a USB connection that has a built in cover. I personally didn’t like the design of the cover because I found it got stuck and was sometimes hard to open. This mod has a 510-threaded connection and a full eGo connection so you can use it with most atomizers and clearomizers.

The big selling point of the eVic is the high tech software elements. When you first turn it on, you see the Joyetech logo displayed on the screen and then you see the “home” menu. You can easily see your voltage and wattage settings at the bottom of the screen. You can set up the display screen to show the options you are most interested in. There is a puff counter, date and time, puff or time based alarms, along with your ohms, voltage, and wattage. There is also a thermometer symbol that gives you a warning when your temperature goes above a recommended level. When you take a puff, the screen changes to a stopwatch type display that shows you how long your puff lasts.

There are endless options in the software for the eVic. When you press the fire button five times, it will take you to the menu. Honestly, I found that it was a little difficult to navigate. There are just so many options. You can put your device in sleep mode, adjust power settings, see your device ID, or put it in a stealth mode. There are also options to change your home screen layout, switch between variable voltage and variable wattage modes, or even program in a set time for puffs where you press the button and it automatically fires for the amount of time you programmed in.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are endless options to customize the eVic, but the real question is whether you need all these complicated options? Honestly, after trying the eVic, I think the vast majority of the software options are excessive and downright unnecessary. Unless you just really like techie type gadgets, the many options will feel cumbersome. It’s almost too complicated and I found it really frustrating. While it gives a good vape, it’s not so great that you can’t get the same performance from a much more affordable device without all the headaches of dealing with a complicated menu.

Ultimately, the Joyetech eVic is a good mod, but it has way too many features that you will hardly ever use in a real life. I’d recommend that you save your money and get a cheaper mod that offers the same level of performance. Or better yet, spring for a mod with more practical features and killer performance like the V2 Pro.

I got my eVic for free, and there are so many options and I don’t know what half of them mean! I got it because the person who gave it to me thought it was broken, but it just needed a new atomizer, so BAM free kit with atomizer and clearomizer. I’m still trying to figure out what some of the options are and what changing them does. If you know individually, the help would be great, otherwise maybe you can point me to an eVic for dummies type thing. I’m just used to adjusting watts and push button and go…

But free is free, and I do enjoy it.

I think everyone knows about the eVic by now with the VTC model taking over the market. This eVic was good on it’s own but I do prefer the VTC over this one. It just takes the jump from tube to box mod and lets you get more out of it.

the eVic is my favorite tube mod ever. I still use it regularly and it’s great for travel. I don’t care if it’s a little outdated at this point because it is a beast. It kind of looks like the V2 Pro like they say but this came our first and isn’t for smoking weed too haha.

I got the eVic as a gift. It was my first experience going into a mod. I came from the cig-a-likes so this was a huge step up. I really did love this device. I’ve since moved on to the iJoy RDTA building sick decks. But there is a process you kind of need to take on the way. You can’t jump into the big boy devices right away without feeling overwhelmed, so this was a great choice.

This device was okay for me but lacked the power I wanted. I quickly jumped to a new box and never looked back. This is good for those intermediary vapers but for sure isn’t a cloud chaser’s dream. So long as you know that going in, you should be fine.
