Halo Cigs Starter Kits Overall we really like the Halo Cigs products. The Halo G6 Starter Kit is a great option for those new to vaping or looking for the ultimate in simplicity when it comes to vaping. The Halo Triton Tank Kit is a great option for intermediate Vapers and possibly even some new Vapers that are heavy smokers.

Halo Cigs is an interesting company to us because they’ve managed to change a lot without breaking the core of the business which is great e-liquid. When the first came out, they were our favorite e-liquid company because of the flavors. They improved the packaging over time and amount of flavors and really started taking off. Then they started offering e-cigarettes to go along with their e-liquid and now they even offer mods as well. They don’t offer a huge line of vaping devices but they do offer a great hand selected range of vapes that they trust to work well with their liquids and their customer’s needs.

The focus of this review will be on the non-mod units though and we’ll cover the mods in our other review sections. It is worth point out though that they offer 2 mods now which are the tracer and the reactor lines. So  we are working on getting some in house for testing and will have that info up as soon as possible. The focus of this review is going to be on the Halo G6 electronic cigarette starter kit and the Triton Tank System vape pen that Halo Offers along with their liquids and cartridges.

The Halo G6 is a solid option as an electronic cigarette but short of spectacular. While it lacks a little in vapor production, it does make up some of that ground in customization. For once a brand isn’t pushing exclusively their pre-filled cartridges only and burying a tank attachment, Halo displays it proudly across the page for the G6 Starter Kit. The reason for this is because they make great e-liquids and that’s how their name was made. They’re sure you’ll want to use their e-liquids once you try them.

The Halo G6 Starter Kit comes with 9 color options of Jet Black, Classic White, Midnight Blue, Titanium, Deep Purple, Demon Red, Princess Pink, Emerald Green, and Electric Lime. So depth of options to customize the color has us impressed. We’re a little disappointed there is only one bundled G6 sold as a starter kit so you can’t get much customization there, but for the price we’re really impressed with what you get. For $44.99, you get two batteries, give cartomizers, a wall charger, a USB charger, and it all comes in a good looking case with the Halo logo embossed on it. For the batteries you are able to choose from 2 lengths of 65mm and 78mm and whether they are automatic or manual batteries. You get to do this for each battery so you can match and mix however you want, which is great. The 78mm battery will last longer but the trade off is the size makes it heavier. So we do recommend most people get one of each.

While you can order mini tanks to put whatever liquid you want with the G6, the starter kit comes with 5 pre-filled cartridges with some great flavor options and nicotine strengths to choose from. The flavors available in 6mg, 12mg, 18mg, or 24mg levels are Prime15, Belgian Cocoa, HX3, Turkish Tobacco, Subzero, Torque 56, Menthol Ice, Malibu, and Tribeca. You can go the liquid route by ordering blanks that match the color of your battery to fill several times before tossing them for new ones too. So they allow you to use e-liquid immediately but you’ll have to pay for the e-liquid separately so it might be best to get the pre-filled ones to try out a flavor first. Then you can transfer to the mini tanks later if you want to go that route.

This kit feels solid and isn’t a cigarette clone look wise with the colors but it does run about the size of traditional cigarettes. The weight is obviously much greater than a normal cigarette because this has a battery, atomizer, and e-liquid compared to papers, a filter, and some leafy tobacco. The weight is on par with the industry standard though and while we love the added benefit of the longer battery lasting longer, the shorter one seems to have a better feel and balance to holding it. Overall the whole unit is smooth from the top to the bottom.

The vapor production is solid for a cig-a-like e cigarette and the throat hit is great for this class of device. We got consistent draws without any liquid coming back through the device in pre-filled cartridges or the blanks. We tested out the mini tanks too and they worked wonderfully. Overall the vapor was about the equivalent to the smoke you would get from a cigarette so no complaints there. The flavor we felt tasted better from the mini tanks but was still good from the pre-filled cartridges and most users wouldn’t notice the difference.

At the end of the day the Halo G6 Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit is a great value that delivered for the price if you’re in the market for a cig-a-like. The cig-a-likes are a decent option for new vapers as they progress through finding out if vaping is for them or not. So check i tout today and grab the color that matches your personality and the flavor that matches your taste.

If you’ve used cig-a-likes and they aren’t quite doing enough for you anymore, you should give the Halo Triton Tank System a try. It’s their vape pen that is a step up without going to the mod level yet. It delivers simplicity while giving you more power and it’s built solely for e-liquid. We consider this an intermediate device and a good one at that. It comes with two options for ways to get it in a starter kit.

The good cheap option is the Triton Single Kit that has a tank, 650 mAh battery, USB charger, and a 7ml bottle of e-liquid all included for $24.99. This is a good price for it as it will meet the needs of most intermediate Vapers and even the heavier smoking new Vapers looking to switch. The kit does offer some customization but not as much to keep the price point low. You can choose from 4 battery colors of Jet Black, Titanium, Midnight Blue, and Iridescence (which is pretty awesome looking). The e-liquid is going to be 18mg regardless of the flavor you choose, but you can choose between Tribeca and SubZero for your flavor to start. Basically they are giving you the option of tobacco or menthol flavor to get started. While it doesn’t have a wall charger, it does have the USB charger that you can plug in so many places these days. We do recommend you use their wall charger rather than just finding one to plug it into around your house or you can stick with only using USB ports.

The other option that is great, but costs you more, is the Triton Tank Kit that comes with 2 batteries, two tanks, a USB charger, a wall charger, and a nose cone. This kit also comes in a reusable case as well so that is technically included. Then you also get a 30ml bottle of PG E-Liquid for free as well. So for $49.95 it’s still a great value as you get double the equipment of the Single kit and also the wall charger, case, and an extra 23ml of e-liquid. The other benefit to choose this kit is you get more color options. In addition to the four above, you can get Demon Red, Emerald Green, Deep Purple, Princess Pink, Electric Lime, Mocha, and Yellow Jacket. With this kit you can select if each battery is 400 mAh or 650 mAh allowing you to customize a little more and get one of each if you’d like. The PG flavors available for this kit are Captain Jack, Belgian Cocoa, Freedom Juice, Fusion Nicotine, HX3, Kringle’s Curse, Longhorn, Midnight Apple, Cool Mist, Malibu Menthol, Menthol Ice,  Mystic, Prime15, Shamrock, Tiki Juice, Torque 56, Tribeca, Turkish Tobacco, SubZero, Cafe Mocha, Voodoo, Southern Classic, Menthol V, Black Calico, Cordoba, and more. The point is there are tons of flavors to try and we love almost every Halo flavor we’ve ever used over the years!

The only downside to the aesthetics of the unit are that it isn’t flush from the battery to the tank. There is a small indent by the battery where the button is to keep it from being the same width top to bottom. This isn’t a big deal and does actually make it a little easier to find the button without looking (aside from it sticking out) if it isn’t facing the right way when you grab it driving or something else where you need to focus away from your e-cig. The nose cone in the full starter kit helps improve the look and design of your battery through the tank but isn’t needed other than for that extra nice look. Overall it’s a nice looking unit that fits your hand well and is easy to operate.

The vapor production on the Triton Kit is an upgrade from the G6 kits by Halo and while it isn’t quite clouds, it’s getting there. It’s way above the smoke a cigarette would put out in terms of vapor. The throat hit is great on this unit too. That does vary based on the liquid flavor and strength you choose but it’s overall a great feeling. The flavor on this unit is more pure than the G6 as well but it’s not a huge difference. The good thing about these is you only need the one tank to last they day and the batteries are usually going to get you through a day, especially if you have two of them. The draws were all smooth and we had zero liquid come back through the mouthpiece which is great. So while it’s not a mod, it’s a great fit for those looking to take the next step.

Overall we really like the Halo Cigs products. The Halo G6 Starter Kit is a great option for those new to vaping or looking for the ultimate in simplicity when it comes to vaping. The Halo Triton Tank Kit is a great option for intermediate Vapers and possibly even some new Vapers that are heavy smokers. Both of the units are priced well and offer great value for the money spent. So if you’re looking for a new brand with GREAT e-liquid, go with Halo. Even if you don’t get their e-cigs or vape pens, you should at least try out their flavors. You won’t regret it. Tell us what you think in the comments below!

Do not do business with Halo Ecigs. I have just had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. An almost $200 order of their products was not delivered due to an error with their packaging. I paid for the ultra fast shipping ($40) so that the package would arrive in 3-5 business days on December 28, 2013. After 20 business days (Jan 31, 2014) without the package (it was sent back from the Canadian border due to improper packaging) I contacted Halo and was told that they would re-ship the product, but that I would have to pay for shipping a second time.

I exchanged many emails back and forth over the course of 5 days (never expect to get a response back the same day) they confirmed that they would not resend without more money. Why would I pay more for shipping when the error was their fault?

After a couple more messages I was just too fed up to continue. I’m sure there are lost of other plans that value customers who had spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars with their business.

They were the third brand I have tried and the one I stuck with. To me the price for what you get is the best of what’s out there. I have updated from a G6 use those rarely and enjoy the Triton with an adjustable battery. The Malibu is my EDV and their customer service has been good to me.
