Innokin iTaste VTR Review

Innokin Itaste VTR Review 0

This product has been discontinued from sales and replaced with newer models.

Over the past few years, Innokin has consistently rolled out a variety of incredible mods and APV’s and each one had distinct pros and cons. The iTaste VTR is one of the newest mods in the Innokin lineup and it’s one of the most highly anticipated products to date. This is a high end mod with a modern boxy design, but it does have a few drawbacks.

First Impressions

At first glance, this is a nicely designed mod, but after using it for awhile, I did find a few drawbacks. The first thing I noticed was that the battery clasp on the bottom feels a little loose and cheap. I found that it could actually come off if the device isn’t closed properly. It’s not a deal breaker, but it’s definitely something that Innokin could improve on future versions of the VTR.

This device has variable voltage features and you can set it from 3-6 volts by using the display screen. It also has variable wattage options from 3-15 watts so there is plenty of power to enjoy all of your favorite e-liquids. I found that the VTR performs best when it’s set between 8 and 11 watts, much like the iTaste 134.

Another big perk with the VTR is the short circuit protection and ohms readings. It also has a low voltage warning, which is nice if you are a fan of building your own coils. The display is fairly large so it’s easy to read.

Pros and Cons

The VTR was designed to work with the iClear 30 clearomizers, but if you prefer to use something like the Kanger UniTank or the ProTank, you might have to really work with it to make it fit nicely. It’s possible that Innokin designed the VTR this way on purpose to encourage people to use their own iClear 30s, but that also limits the users a lot because many vapers are totally loyal to their ProTanks and Kangers. Ultimately, this is a personal choice and you can make them work with the VTR. Just be aware that it was designed to work best with the iClear 30s.

In terms of vapor, I have nothing negative to say about the VTR at all. With the 18650 batteries, you get fantastic battery life and an overall incredible vape.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, I think the Innokin iTaste VTR has a solid place in the mod market. While the iTaste VTR  probably wouldn’t be my top choice for an everyday vape, it is definitely sufficient and will be a favorite for those that prefer the boxier styles.
