IPV 2S Box Mod Review

ipv 2s mod review 5

The IPV 2S is a powerful box mod that has quietly risen to stand above the competition. While no one really expected this model to pack a big punch, it turns out that it’s an incredible vape with extreme power maxing out at 60 watts. For the average vaper, 60 watts is excessive and won’t really be useful, but if you are hard core and like to make big clouds, this mod is going to be your dream come true. Even if you don’t tend to go for bigger wattage, the IPV 2S is a great option. Though I’m usually only running at 10 or 15 watts, I find that I reach for this device regularly because it has such incredible power.

At first glance, the IPV 2S doesn’t look like anything spectacular. The design is simple, but sometimes that’s a good thing. I actually really like box mods that keep things uncluttered and streamlined. This mod is a basic aluminum box and it has a 510 connection and touch sensor on the top, with a USB port and air vents on the bottom. On the side, there are three buttons and a display.

The back cover is held on by two small screws and if you remove it, you can replace the 18650 battery. One of the big benefits of this mod is that you don’t have to remove the battery to charge it. Instead, just plug it in with the micro USB port. This saves you a lot of hassle in removing the back plate repeatedly.

I was pretty surprised at how lightweight and comfortable this mod feels in hand. It only weighs 5.5 ounces including the installed battery. It’s lighter than the Sigelei ZMAX, but every bit as sturdy.

The IPV 2S has a nice display that shows voltage, wattage, resistance, and battery charge. It also has a nice power saving feature where the display will dim after a few seconds and then shuts off after one minute.

My favorite feature of this mod is the touch sensor located on the top. It essentially acts as a second fire button, but you don’t have to actually press it. If you don’t like this feature, you can always turn it off using the buttons next to the display. I found the touch button to actually be more useful than the regular firing button. It’s easier to use and feels more comfortable.

In terms of performance, the IPV 2S is a workhorse. It has incredible vapor production and you can cloud up a room in just a single puff. If you like to sub-ohm, you’re going to love this mod. It can handle builds ranging as low as .2 ohms. If you are looking for lots of power, you’ve found it here. I would actually highly recommend this mod for daily vaping. Because of its simplicity, it’s really intuitive and it’s lightweight enough to be portable.

The only real downside is the price. You could opt for the comparable iTaste MVP and pay much less. But of course, there are some trade offs. Personally, I own both of these mods and I actually like the IPV 2S better. In a side-by-side comparison, it just offers a better vape. But if money is a big issue, you can probably get away with the MVP and be just fine.

Ultimately, the IPV 2S is an incredible mod. It offers huge clouds of vapor from a simple, intuitive design. It’s far superior to many of the other box mods on the market and it’s currently one of my favorite vapes.

I have this mod and love it as well , i think the MVP’s are every bit as good but you can’t compare a fixed battery mod to a replaceable battery mod .

Unless you compared this model to an MVP Pro which is also 60 watt the comparison is completely bogus. The 60 watt MVP Pro was not offered back when this review was done so again meaningless .

I see some people comparing mega watt devices to the MVP 2.0 which puts out 11 watts which is just plain stupid.

This is why i don’t take most review people seriously.

I had the IPV2 and I loved it. So when they came out with the IPV2S, I jumped at it. It has some good upgrades like more power and the touch button on top. I actually really like this feature. This is my vape I take with me when traveling, hands down the best choice for that out of my vape arsenal.

I do like the device overall. I think the touch sensitive top button is very gimmicky though. I’d rather be able to just turn that off. It’s a feature I don’t really care for. I was able to turn it off by long pressing the fire button the minus button at the same time. The box itself works great and better than I expected for a single battery unit. The step down feature is great too.

If you’re looking for a good travel device – this is a good choice. It’s probably my favorite single 18650 battery device. Great performance and a nice form factor. The device also feels solid in your hand.

The build quality of this device is good and the YiHi s330 v2s board is a great feature to have. The spring loaded 510 is a great standard feature as well. All around good device.
